Special Christmas Worship Service

On December 22, a special Christmas Worship Service has been planned that will take place in the historic Pine Valley chapel. The service will be from 10:30 to 11:30 and will consist of Christmas songs and the Christmas story. Afterwards, we will share treats and visit in the downstairs part of the building. Friends and community are invited to celebrate this wonderful season together. 

Community Christmas Caroling

If you haven't participated in this caroling event in the past, you should! It is cold, but fun and people come out of their houses all over the valley to hear the caroling. It will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit!

Community Christmas Party

This is always a great time and usually draws more people than any other event. Come and meet your neighbors and enjoy some Christmas fun. We will have our own "giving machine" that will collect gift cards to be delivered to agencies in our county who help people in need at Christmas and throughout the year. You can bring gift cards for grocery stores, clothing stores, anything you choose. Or just come--gift cards are definitely not required!

Snow level

I've heard a few different estimates of the amount of snow that we've received, but 26" is pretty agreed upon. It's definitely a good amount for this early in the year. Hopefully we'll continue to receive more throughout the winter.

It was a busy day for snow blowers, snow throwers and shovelers! After so long without rain, I haven't heard anyone complain.

Art Demonstrations/Workshops at the Heritage Center tomorrow

If you and your family are looking for something fun to do for the holiday weekend, remember that the Pine Valley Artisans will be set up on the Heritage Center lawn tomorrow. We have new products and some new vendors, including one that makes beautiful turned bowls, another who does custom embroidery, a display and demo of some great solar emergency lights and all of the regulars. We will also have food and homemade root beer. AND don't forget the demonstrations--one every hour starting at 10:00--clay, candy making, leather craft, paper making, book making and string art.

Even if you don't come to buy, just come celebrate the end of summer while you visit and enjoy a great community atmosphere on a beautiful day in Pine Valley.

Pine Valley Artisans End of Summer Craft Fair & Workshops

Pine Valley Artisans are planning an End of Summer event on the lawn of the Heritage Center on Saturday, August 31. We wanted to try something a little different and so will be offering five mini workshops, one every hour starting at 10:00. We can only guess at numbers, but we're planning for ten maximum so be there on time if you want to participate! If you happen to have a larger group that would like to attend a particular workshop, let us know and we can plan for it.

A Spring with Abundant Water

After our big rain storm last night, we took a walk up into the park to see how much water there was. The answer was A LOT! The reservoir is filled, the spillway is roaring and the river is overflowing. There are even streams in the park that I don't remember ever seeing before. It is so nice to have this abundance of water this year!

Next PIne Valley Activity - June 15

Spring Craft Market--Even if it doesn't look like spring :)

Despite our crazy weather, the Pine Valley Artisans are still planning their spring craft market. Because snow is expected again tomorrow, we'll be just inside the Heritage Center on Thursday the 23rd, but for Friday and Saturday we will have things in the center and much more out on the lawn. There will be tons of bird houses, yard art, wind chimes, pottery, leather, books, hand crocheted items, very cute gnomes, several kinds of jewelry, candy, preserves, sandwiches and desserts! ....I'm sure there are even more things; so many I can't remember them all. 

Bring your visitors and come yourself to support your artisan neighbors!

Spring Craft Market

The Pine Valley Artisan group is kicking off another season with a Spring Craft Market on Memorial Day Weekend--Thursday through Saturday, May 23, 24 & 25. There will be craft items in the Heritage Center and also on the lawn. Come by and take a look!

Two May Activities

Our next activity is a fun, entertaining evening on Monday, May 6, at the Pine Valley Chapel.  Some Broadway….. well St. George entertainers will be coming by to make us smile and laugh as they sing, dance and act their way into our hearts! You will recognize the talented Janet Labrum at the piano!

Valentines Party on February 14 will now be held at the chapel.  It is to cold to move the fire trucks outside.

I know a lot of you who have homes in the valley aren't here all of the time and love to get a picture of the weather we're having in your absence :) This past week we have had a LOT of moisture--rain some days, but for the past couple of days some heavy snow. How happy our plants and waterways will be this summer!
